Job Description:

  • Collaborate with other department managers (i.e. Operations, Safety, Quality, Shipping, etc.) to achieve common company goals and objectives
  • Outline and communicate team members' duties and responsibilities
  • Monitor cost and efficiencies while encouraging a continuous improvement mindset
  • Recruit, select, and ensure adequate training of new employees
  • Provide guidance, training, coaching, and mentorship to employees on how to meet their duties and responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for skill development and provide continuous development and upskilling challenges
  • Manage staffing requirements & track manning information
  • Maintain and coordinate attendance, performance, discipline procedures, and goal setting; problem solving, as required
  • Conduct weekly training and enforce safety regulations and department procedures for all employees
  • Ensure plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, good housekeeping and GMPs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to successfully identify safety issues and make recommendations for engineering controls
  • Ensure machines and equipment are up to operational performance to limit downtime
  • Review work orders to ensure appropriate labor and parts are assigned
  • Source parts, as needed
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervisor and review the work of mechanics, electricians, etc. responsible for the machinery and facility maintenance.
  • Report KPI’s for management review
  • Manage facility projects to include getting bids, making recommendations of vendors, managing details, timelines, and budgets to assure projects are completed on time, in scope and under budget
  • Make regular recommendations for improvements

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and execute tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to come up with creative solutions to complex issues
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing operations
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience, strongly preferred
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities

Salary info:

$65000 - $75000 / hr
