Due to continued growth, our Nuclear Services Group is seeking a License Renewal (LR) / Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) Lead Responsible Engineer to join the ENERCON team in one of the following locations: Glendale, AZ, FT Worth, TX or San Luis Obispo CA. In this role, your responsibility will be to Lead an Engineering team comprised of LR/SLR SMEs, and engineering staff.

Responsibilities including (but not limited to):

  • Preparation of Integrated Plant Assessment documents, including the development of scoping, screening and aging management review (AMR) reports, and aging management program (AMP) reviews of systems, structures and components.
  • Evaluate and update of time-limited aging analyses (TLAAs) relative to the extended operating period.
  • Preparation of License Renewal Applications (LRA) including scoping, screening, AMRs, TLAAs, AMPs, FSAR update, Technical Specification changes, and Environmental Report (Part 51) supplement.
  • Provide technical leadership for License Renewal implementation (LRI) including but not limited to development of schedules, AMP basis documents, LRI procedure revisions, verification of completed inspections and support of NRC LRI inspections.
  • Implement required improvements to support the extended period of operation (PEO).
  • Prepare proposals for licensee renewal and implementation bids.
  • Serve as the focal point for initial unit contact to Management, PM’s, and other internal constituents and together with the PMs and engineering staff, define the scope of work.
  • Working with Project Managers and accepts unit’s responsibility of budget and schedule for assigned projects.
  • Lead proposal preparation with input for scope and budget to PMs.
  • Develop professional relationships with client counterparts.
  • Assist in marketing the ENERCONs expertise/abilities to clients.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for site work

Required Qualifications/Required Skills:

  • BS in Engineering
  • MS Engineering and PE license preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of related industry experience with 5 years or more of it in License Renewal development and implementation.
  • At least two years’ experience leading projects.
  • Experience working in a Nuclear Power Plant environment and familiarity with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) governing codes.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; Comfortable and effective communicator with the team, clients, management, etc., choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right message.
  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong coordination and team building skills; demonstrated the ability to work across disciplines, divisions, and teams. Ability to assess and understand team strengths and weaknesses and adjust the level of support/oversight as appropriate.
  • Ability to motivate the team and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style which is consistent with ENERCON’s Defining Excellence fundamentals
  • Problem-solving and general scientific evaluation skills.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; ENERCON and client specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies
  • Required to travel up to 20 - 25% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project and/or marketing meetings. Activities at client sites may require pre-job briefs and walkdowns at the site, including occasional climbing.

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; ENERCON and client specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies.
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites.
