SUMMARY:

The position is within our Automotive division and is responsible for mechanical and electrical repair and preventative maintenance of facility and plant equipment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Actively participate in the continual improvement of the Plant’s safety culture
  • Responsible for conforming to all Plant Health, Environment, Safety, and Security (EHS) policies and procedures
  • Lead team of 1-2 mechanics and 1 electrician during shift to conduct repairs, communicate findings, improve team capability, and continuously improve operation efficiency
  • Delegate and coordinate team to ensure completion of weekly work order schedule
  • Responsible for mechanical troubleshooting, corrective repair, and preventive/predictive maintenance of production and facility equipment. Assets in this multi-faceted plant are inclusive of chemical blending (Pumps, Valves, Agitators), Bottle Blow Molding (Blow Molders, Labelers, Trimmers), and liquid product filling (Liquid Fillers, drops packers, case formers, palletizers, and stretch wrappers) as well as other general facility equipment (chillers, cooling towers, compressors, etc.)
  • Support production to ensure equipment is continuously running in its most efficient state, including assisting at times with change over and set up of production lines
  • Clearly communicate issues faced during shift at hand-off, and to identify defects and improvements with detailed information and recommendations for work order generation
  • Interpret drawings and manuals to determine the best course of action when resolving issues, and assist in the planning of difficult jobs
  • Ensure assigned work orders are completed correctly, safely, and to the highest quality standard
  • Work directly with contractors regarding new or existing projects and repairs
  • Achieve expert-level understanding of site equipment and use knowledge to support, direct, and train maintenance team members
  • Comply with plant safety, quality, GMPs, current standard practices and all other plant rules, policies/procedures

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in manufacturing or related field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in leadership position in manufacturing or related field
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical background and general building maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated equipment troubleshooting ability
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work a 24/5 non-rotating schedule with occasional scheduled Saturday overtime
  • Must be able to read, and interpret mechanical and electrical prints, schematics, & documents

Preferred:

  • Advanced skills or trades training related to industrial maintenance (welding, fabrication, machining, precision alignment, fibration/ultrasonic/thermography analysis, etc.)
  • Blow Molding or Liquid Filling experience (filler, capper, drop packer, palletizer)
  • Troubleshooting and installation of low voltage electrical components and systems
  • Knowledge of industry standard motion sensing & control devices
  • Expert knowledge of DC & AC motors & drives (AB preferred)
  • Skilled in PLC programming & HMI interface configuration (such as Panel View etc.)
