Job description

Under the supervision of the Team Leader, a Laborer’s responsibilities are, but not limited to:

1. Quality Objective – To assure that all products produced are of the highest quality possible, meeting all standards and specifications required.

2. Function-

A. Put forms together to produce precast concrete products

B. Assist in pouring of products

C. Strip and cleanup forms

D. Finish preparation of product

E. Store products in the yard

3. General duties and responsibilities -

A. Cleanup work area, general work areas, and the pit

B. Clean debris from around the work area

C. Wash equipment and forklifts

D. Clean and oil forms

E. Handle material during packaging

F. Inspect placements of lifting hooks and/or eyes before and after pouring

G. Inspect all lifting chains for fatigue and use proper size lift truck for job

H. Mark structures with proper identification: sales order number, structures number, date produced and Champion logo, in a neat and readable manner

I. Supervise and maintain good housekeeping daily in designated area

J. Make team leader aware when raw materials and hardware stock are low

4. Additional duties at work -

A. Shovel pits

B. Package products

C. Clean and oil concrete buckets

D. Painting and sweeping

E. Check shop drawings against product poured in the plant

5. Physical requirements -

A. Position requires climbing, standing, or bending for long periods of time

B. Ability to move about plant and yard facilities in a safe and efficient manner

C. Requires full unobstructed hearing and vision

D. Must be able to lift and push 100 pounds maximum; and pull 92 pound maximum

E. Handle and operate materials and equipment used in production and manufacturing safely and efficiently

F. Handle and utilize various tools used for cleaning equipment and molds

G. Must be able to read production records, training manuals and operating procedures; and read, understand, and follow daily shop drawings and specifications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
