Job Description


The Laboratory Chemist receives sufficient authority from and is accountable to the Business Unit Manager, or appointed designate, for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities and has the authority to take action necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position so long as such action does not deviate from established company guidelines, is consistent with sound technical and business judgment, and follows the practices of the company.

1. Follow all of Eurofins DQCI SOP’s, guidelines and procedures, as pertains to their position.

2. Registration of incoming samples (as needed), maintaining a neat and accurate record system of work performed on a daily basis and as needed for quality control tests or regulatory purposes.

3. Enter the sample data into DQCI LIMS or Eurofins eLIMS systems, either manually or through automatic export, in a timely and accurate manner.

4. Complete laboratory (Chemistry and/or Microbiology) testing on all incoming samples in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

5. Verify results and submit results, either electronically or in hard copy, to the appropriate personnel for transmission, in a timely manner.

6. Research/access sample and client information using computer system and custom software; monitor request for action or information to ensure a timely response to clients.

7. Effectively utilize PC and be thoroughly familiar with the use of company provided software packages such as Microsoft Office.

8. Coordinate and track all sample data for clients requiring special account monitoring or reporting procedures. Maintain appropriate follow-up with accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and to monitor sales levels.

9. Clerical support to include, but not limited to, quote preparation and generating reports when needed.

10. Manage time in a manner that ensures a degree of productivity.

11. Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe work area and assist others in maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

12. Ensure that proprietary methodologies are not disclosed to non-employees except as approved by Management.

13. Maintain a perpetual state of readiness and willingness to respond to the queries and needs of clients, staff, and coworkers.

14. Remain current on industry and business advancements and trends as suggested by Manager.

15. Maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees. Communicate orally and in writing to coworkers. This includes “intra” and “inter” departmental employees.

16. Promote the company image through the exercising of sound and ethical business practices as related to the public and our customers.

17. Review of test results and controls to determine if meet all QC criteria was met.

18. Train other techs on test methods, safety rules and procedures.

19. Maintain, troubleshoot and repair LC/GC-MS/MS.

20. Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Personal Qualities/Profile:

  • Basic understanding of ISO 17025 guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Responsive, independent problem solver and action oriented
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Initial Education Background:

  • Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field, plus 2-5 years experience with LC/GC-MS/MS.

Position is Full-Time, First Shift - Tuesday - Saturday: 9:00am - 5:30 pm with additional hours, as needed. Candidates currently living in a commutable distance to Fresno, CA are encourage to apply.
