The Laboratory Administrative Coordinator at IDEXX BioAnalytics (IBA) assists with administrative and customer service tasks in a complex work area supporting research pathology services, including anatomic and clinical pathology for IND-enabling preclinical testing and FDA-regulated veterinary clinical trials. Cross-functional team members of this position include, but are not limited to, laboratory technicians and managers, study managers, and pathologists.

IDEXX BioAnalytics’ scientific expertise takes a novel approach to the discovery of new diagnostic tests that supplement a robust portfolio of products and services. We partner with Pharma, BioTech, and Academia (the scientific community) to improve animal and human health.

This position can be located in EITHER IDEXX's North Grafton, MA Reference lab or our West Sacramento, CA reference lab.. The ideal candidate will have outstanding attention to detail and an ability to do seated computer work for up to 8 hours/day.

  • The schedule for this position is:
830am -5pm PST in West Sacramento; the hours in North Grafton can be either 8am-430pm or 830am-5pm.

Hourly rates targeting $19-22/hour, depending on experience.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides administrative support to the laboratory team.
Performs tasks such as data entry, phone coverage, ordering of office supplies, faxing, processing of purchase orders, invoices, check requests and expense reports, preparing reports, meeting minutes and correspondence.
Coordinates meetings and conference calls.
Creates and edits documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
Assists with projects of varying scope and complexity.
Enters and release test results using the Laboratory Information System.
Participates in process improvement activities as instructed.
Works with Customer Support Service, the administrative team, laboratory managers and supervisors, and pathologists to achieve team goals.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Adheres to and models the IDEXX Purpose & Guiding Principles.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
A baccalaureate degree preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Attention to details.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
A positive attitude.
Ability to provide good customer support.
Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Compliance with standard operating procedures and documentation guidelines.
Personal computer skills, including strong typing ability and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Motivation to acquire business skills to meet business needs.
Ability to extend and reach with hands and arms and to use hands and fingers.
Ability to move and carry 50 pounds.
Ability to maintain a reliable and mostly consistent attendance schedule.
