Posting Summary
Provide specialized technical assistance for scientific research projects related to thiol-based redox signaling in lung cell biology. Work with (primary) airway epithelial cell cultures, and other cell models used in the laboratory. Perform and assist with laboratory experiments, and various lab procedures including, Western blotting, biochemical assays, HPLC analyses, real time PCR analyses, construction of plasmid and other vectors, transfection of cells, and protein purification. Assist with immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, ELISAs, etc. on ongoing laboratory animal experiments involving isolation of DNA, RNA, and protein. Maintain major laboratory equipment and laboratory protocols, and assist in troubleshooting.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related science, and one to two years’ experience in molecular and cellular biological techniques.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in common molecular biology techniques (RT-PCR, cell transfections, gene editing strategies) is highly desirable. A background in (Bio)Chemistry is also highly desirable.
