GPI seeks a Junior Mechanical Engineer to provide a range of services as part of an integrated building services design team for our Metro Ny office in Suffern, NY. We are seeking someone with a good work ethic, a desire to learn, the willingness to work collectively with our team, and the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Creating basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer or senior designer
• Performing CAD drafting for a variety of projects and beginning to understand building systems engineering design and documentation
• Coordinating with other trades (architectural and engineering and/or internal and external)
• Supporting the design and engineering efforts of systems for new, retrofits, and/or replacement and upgrades for a wide variety of projects
• Maintaining company standards
• Assisting with field investigations and construction site visits to ensure projects meet the client’s specifications
• Attending project coordination meetings as required

What You Bring to the Table:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required
• Experience designing Mechanical building systems is a plus
• EIT or the ability to obtain in 6 months is required
• Knowledge of AutoCAD required; Revit preferred
• Ability to learn local building and Energy Codes required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
• Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
• Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
• Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
