Qualified candidates must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in field of Computer Science highly preferred
  • 1-2+ years of relevant experience
  • Deep SQL query knowledge and intermediate experience with Qlik Replicate, Azure Data Factory, & Azure Analysis Services
  • Experience creating reusable, scalable architectures to prepare data for downstream consumption

About the Position:
Reporting to the Director of IT & Infrastructure Operations, the Junior Data Architect will focus on the collection, transformation, and promotion of data from ECI’s various systems and supporting applications. The Jr. Data Architect will work closely with our analyst and application teams to recommend database structures based on the data storage and retrieval needs. This position will be responsible for constantly monitoring our database and immediately addressing database issues and problems, along with overseeing critical data migrations.

Duties Include:

  • Translate business functions into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Analyze databases in different aspects such as data integrity, data model, availability, and performance.
  • Develop data models for utilizing the rich data involved in creating an autonomous system.
  • Assist in synthesizing large, unstructured data into clear and broadly usable datasets.
  • Aid in development of strategies; plan and work with technical team to implement best practices and around data dictionary creation and master data management concepts.
  • Build data mappings for new systems and data migration projects; implement subject area of business functions and publish the models for collaborative development.
  • Support strategic projects to design and implement analytical platforms.
  • Provide expertise in centralized and distributed data engineering solutions.
  • Capture and share best practices across data systems.
  • Create and document models for new database development and/or changes to existing ones through data flowcharting
  • Coordinate data model development with the higher-level data architecture to ensure cross-application consistency
  • Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current data warehouses and leverage solutions to ensure data standards
  • Identify data discrepancies and data quality issues, and work to ensure data consistency and integrity
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in field of Computer Science highly preferred
  • 1-2+ years of relevant experience
  • Deep SQL query knowledge and intermediate experience with Qlike Replicate, Azure Data Factory, & Azure Analysis Services
  • Experience creating reusable, scalable architectures to prepare data for downstream consumption
  • Experience working with large datasets from many data sources and formats
  • Experience with data warehousing design and development
  • Experience with Microsoft Synapse, Snowflake, Power BI, AS400 iSeries, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics a plus
