Position: Junior Accountant

At Anthony M Buzzeo CPA, PLLC, we are an organization committed to advancement and growth. We are seeking a motivated individual to work one on one with our audit professional in order to provide a high level of service for our audit clients. This job provides a unique opportunity to work in our upstate New York office, while working with clients from the New York City area.

Location: Goshen, NY

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Review contracts, payments and other executed documents for evidence or indication of authorization of transaction
• Determine compliance with company controls and procedures for execution of documents and payment methods
• Compile information on employee or staff access to particular forms of data and computer systems
• Retrieve bank or financial statements, receipts, invoices, checks and other documentation of company transactions
• Compare invoices, checks and receipts with statements to find inconsistencies or incomplete documentation
• Examine statements, forms and internal organization controls for compliance with regulatory and accounting standards
• Evaluate reliability of source of financial data
• Report findings of audit to senior auditors or to management
• Assist seniors and managers with research on new developments in tax and accounting regulations.
• Participate in firm wide initiatives for increased productivity and profitability.
• Prepare business tax returns (Corporate, Partnership) for partner review.
• Reports to the Audit Manager

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Undergraduate degree in accounting, or degree in process
• Technical skills; general computer (audit programs are a plus)
• Proficient in Microsoft office
• Problem solving and critical thinking
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA candidate
• Strong analytical and computer skills
• Detailed-oriented

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
