NG Corporate, LLC has an immediate opening for an IT System Operations Lead position at our Charlotte, NC location. This position will report to the Manager, IT Service Operations.

JOB SUMMARY:

The System Operations Lead works with technical resources inside and outside the company to deliver on premise, hosted/cloud, and Software as a Service (SaaS) system services supporting all National Gypsum locations and processes. This encompasses server systems (Windows & Linux), MS Active Directory, Wide and Local Area Networking, voice/data communications. The job priority is to provide highly reliable system services and maintain excellent customer service for all assigned projects and service requests from key customers.


The System Operations Lead manages the activities of the Systems Operations Team and Communications Team, provide technical guidance and assistance in functions such as hardware and software installation/upgrades, system/network monitoring, system service supplier management, and platform/service strategy. The System Operations Lead also provides end-user support for complex services and in support of Service Desk operations.


The System Operations Lead plans and organizes technical and implementation strategies for the company’s data center, hosted/cloud, and SaaS systems as well as manages relationships with system service providers.


This position requires solid skills in project management, team leadership, inter-personal communication, and technical documentation.


MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide management and leadership to the System Operations and Communications Teams in day-to-day system operations and administration

· Provide project planning, task loading/tracking, oversight, and technical direction to the System Operations Team

· Provide direct technical administration/engineering support to all system and network platforms in IT

· Partner with Security team to implement and operationalize security controls

· Identify recurring and potential communication service issues, make recommendations for resolution, and implement approved changes

· Ensure adequate team coverage during business hours and coordinate off-hour support when necessary

· Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and processes to improve IT operations and increase efficiency and productivity.

· Maintain a high level of customer service for all assigned projects, service requests, and incidents

· Perform system capability and capacity planning. Lead and manage all work related to system design, configuration, tuning, and upgrades

· Provide operational support for all efforts to develop, test, and implement system disaster recovery plans

· Plan and implement new systems, applications, software, and services as directed by the IT leadership team

· Maintain strong relationships with key partners/providers such as Microsoft, Service Now, and other key system providers such as Dell, VMware, etc. Assist in contract negotiations with all system services and equipment/software providers

· Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

· BS or BA degree in computer science or related technical field preferred, or a significant number of years’ experience in data processing. Technical certifications – any system or technical qualification like Cisco CCNA or CCIE, Microsoft MCSE or other similar recognized certifications preferred

· 5 or more years’ experience with implementing and supporting data center related system/platform services

· Data center and cloud/hosted systems experience with design, administration and support – emphasis on Microsoft Azure/O365 platforms, VMware virtualization, Cisco networking, data center hardware and software systems

· SD-WAN experience with installation and operation of Velo Cloud system, with a mix of circuit types including MPLS, Internet broadband, and 5G wireless.

· Demonstrated project management skills

· Good interpersonal skills as well as excellent oral and written skills

· Able to work independently but also must be a strong team player and leader

· Focused on quality solutions, technical support and excellent customer service

· Effectively address emergency outages, unplanned service disruptions, and manage customer impact
