Responsibilities:
The Service Desk is the front-facing part of most IT organizations. Providing quality, accurate technical solutions is a given. Just as important, however, is the ability to provide our customers with an amazing overall customer experience. That means the candidate must be just as good with “soft skills” like patience, empathy, and communication as you are with technical support skills. The customers of the Noblis Service Desk are Noblis and Noblis subsidiary employees. Support requests come into the Service Desk via telephone, email and ServiceNow tickets. Employees are geographically located throughout the United States, with many working from their homes. This position requires an active Secret clearance since a portion of the job will be to provide support to employees in a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) at a location in Lorton, VA. The environment is currently about 75% Windows vs 25% Mac. A successful candidate would be expected to become proficient with both operating systems.

The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to provide Service Desk supports – hands on and remotely – to Noblis employees. Based primarily out of Reston, VA, with up to 25% travel to other Noblis locations in the DC metro area, this position is a Tier I support position. This implies recent experience with current/modern operating systems and software, and a demonstrated ability to work well with customers in many different locations. There is an expectation all Incidents and Requests will be documented and tracked within ServiceNow. The candidate will also assist with other team members with the following activities:
  • Configure new PCs with the Noblis standard software suite and business applications
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network (LAN/WAN, wireless and remote access) problems
  • Evaluate and test new products
  • Write/review software installation instructions, knowledge base articles, and newsletter articles
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s and 0 years’ experience, or high school with 2 years’ experience
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10 and Mac OSX Operating Systems
  • Must have strong customer service skills and positive demeanor
  • Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications:
  • A+, Net+, Sec+, ITIL Foundations Certifications helpful but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 1+ years of experience providing Service Desk support within a similar organization

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position
is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
