Overview:
Propel Insurance is seeking a high-powered technical talent to maintain our cloud computing infrastructure. You will be a principal technical admin and support both the software applications and management of active AWS cloud services and workspaces.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build and manage our cloud environment. You should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges as you help us take advantage of the efficiencies, cost savings and quick innovations available in the cloud. You will actively define and implement state of the art technical solutions.

This is a hands-on engineering role chiefly centered around Amazon Web Services, Amazon Workspaces, and Microsoft Windows server side. We are looking for an individual with a history of maintaining cloud infrastructure with high quality results.

  • Amazon Web Services (Public Cloud preference)
  • Amazon Workspaces (virtual desktops)
  • Zero clients, Thin Clients, Windows OS, MacOS/iOS (limited)
  • Office365, EMS
  • Okta Identity Management
  • Cisco Meraki
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain & execute cloud product strategy for core infrastructure services (including Workspaces)
  • Define and execute the cloud product strategy for core infrastructure services and evangelize that vision within the organization
  • Utilize a data-driven approach to inform decision-making, analyze system and feature performance and identify opportunities for optimization, improvement, and cost savings
  • Be comfortable in getting hands dirty in day-to-day tasks to get things done
  • Make recommendations on how new cloud offerings fit in our environment
  • Develop documentation on system specifications and operating instructions
  • Act as escalation point to diagnose and repair core infrastructure services in the environment
Qualifications:
  • Strong practical Windows-based administration skills in a Cloud / Virtual environment
  • 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure and Workstation (Workspaces preferable) Design/Management
  • 2+ years of cloud services & infrastructure
  • Experience managing cloud design, operations, monitoring, alerting and notifications
  • Real-world Cloud Computing experience (preferably AWS and Azure/Office 365)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline required or equivalent work experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to help define and document IT policies
