Job Role Summary

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Coordinates and facilitates requisitioning, distribution, stock replenishment, receiving and return functions as applicable to the inventory and purchase of supplies in support of Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab.
• Resolves discrepancy issues, rotates supplies with expiration dates, expedites back orders and communicates back order status to clinic staff.
• Provides economic and purchasing insight to clinicians. Applies clinical applications and effectiveness to purchasing habits and policies. Utilizes both clinical and purchasing interests to negotiate best advantage position with vendors. Advises a vendor as meets the clinical economic interests of Eskenazi Health.
• Organizes annual non-perpetual physical inventory counts and financial valuation of "owned" inventory assets with both process and outcome subject to standard accounting principles.
• Initiates vendor competition for best product/best prices with emphasis on long-term economic advantage and patient outcomes.
• Supports vendor guidelines and policies in the best interest of Eskenazi Health.
• Maintains records appropriate to monitor expenditures, expense and purchasing processes.
• Manages daily supply requisitioning and inventory levels.
• Development knowledge and understanding of purchasing strategies.
• Standardization of products.
• Coordinates and performs annual supply non-perpetual inventory.
• Vendor visitation management in the intervention radiology and cath lab.
• Manages related product recalls.

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Clinical experience required along with 2-3 years' experience in healthcare supply management preferably in the OR setting. RN not required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Computer experience in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to use computer based inventory control system as well as business software applications.
• Requires ability to participate in workgroups to provide insight with product evaluations.
• Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects.
• Requires strong customer service and interpersonal relationship skills.
