What You Will Do:

The Reading Interventionist (RI) will be responsible for providing targeted instruction within a scripted program to scholars in small groups based on lowest deficit skills. The RI will use student data to identify student gaps and work with teachers to determine the best course of action to help students succeed. The RI will be an integral part of the Academics Team at each campus to drive exceptional student achievement.

Essential Job Tasks:

• Responsible for ensuring each scholar increases by a minimum of 10% proficiency in reading per year on the state accountability assessment
• Meet with assigned scholars daily for 30 minutes of Tier 2 instruction
• Implement, with perfect fidelity, our Tier 2 curriculum, Reading Intervention
• Meet with scholars that are significantly below grade level every day to close gaps achievement gaps
• Track growth data and ensure 100% of the scholars you serve either meet or exceed expected annual growth gains
• Analyze data daily to make an informed decision that connects data to responsive teaching
• Utilize instructional strategies and research-based intervention curriculum materials to meet the learning needs of identified scholars
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, building administrators, and parents as needed to support the learning and growth of scholars
• Build confidence, and relationships, and encourage progress for scholars.
• Use data-driven instruction to help close the achievement gap of identified scholars
• Coordinate groupings and rotations with TOR, SPED, IA, or other supporting staff
• Observe, quantify, and document student progress
• Utilize Online Data Management System, where available, to share data and monitor individual student and group progress.
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Credential required OR Enrolled in an accredited teacher licensing program
• Knowledge of child cognitive development and various learning styles
• Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data
• Strength in using data to drive instruction
