Job Title: Internet Technician

Salary Range: $55k - $85k annually

Job Summary:

As a Internet Technician in Colfax, NC you will be installing and repairing home internet service. You will be working under no supervision to install, repair, maintain, test, proof or adjust as needed fiber to the home service. The objective is delivering high speed home internet service to customers. Internet Technicians ensure maximum quality and peak performance and reliability of all fiber optic equipment. Lastly, Internet Technicians will repair damaged fiber optic cable, perform splicing repairs of fiber optic cables, and report all information concerning damages.

Major Responsibilities of Internet Techician:

• Respond to customer requests for new broadband internet installation. Sr level hires roles are expected to and compensated for 3 - 4 jobs per 8 hour shift. Complete more jobs, make more money.
• Respond to maintenance requests at customer homes.
• Conduct fiber splicing, testing, and activation on small/medium construction projects, customer homes, and other.
• Repair any problems affecting fiber or fiber related equipment.
• Operate highly specialized test and fiber optic splicing equipment.
• Splice fiber optic cables and splice cases with a thorough knowledge of standards, materials and techniques utilizing single and mass fusion splicing equipment.

Required Qualifications for Internet Technician roles:

• You're not a cubicle kind of person - you are comfortable climbing ladders, crawling under a house, being in a creepy basement
• Have your own truck or van that can transport job equipment, most notably a 28 ft ladder with the assistance of a ladder rack.
• Ability to read, write and speak English to communicate with team members, customers, and suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communication.
• Demonstrate 1+ yrs of experience working with internet cabling (fiber, coaxial, or CAT5/6). Fiber experience a bonus!

Details on the Internet Technician Role:

• This is a W2 job, not a contract.
• No relocation package or VISA sponsorship available.
• You will be working in the Colfax, NC area.

• Paid training is available to experienced broadband internet installers who are experienced with copper (Cat5/Cat6/t1,ISDN) but are lacking fiber termination experience.
