Job description
  • Under limited supervision by the community services supervision/county manager, assists in the development and implementation of intensive supervision services to young offenders and their families in an effort to provide young offenders pre and post services to address needs, positive skill development, victim services and empowerment to success.
  • Serves as the intensive supervision officer/primary case manager for young offenders assigned to that level of supervision (will work flex hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays) while working closely with the young offender's family to promote family strengthening, empowerment, and positive youth development.
  • Provides a comprehensive screening/assessment of the young offender to identify and implement appropriate interventions for young offender based on needs and risks.
  • Develops and brokers community partnerships and resources.
  • Provides alternatives to prosecution or incarceration through the use of least restrictive environment/graduated responses and promotes community safety.
  • Assists subordinate staff in the development of community services where a gap exists.
  • Maintains case files to include data entry in the intensive supervision services database according to the agency policy and procedures.
  • Prepares reports/conducts and plans meetings/staffing.
  • Conducts pre-release investigations for appropriate serves, living arrangements, and formulates plans for client re-entry/reintegration to the community setting.
  • Promotes restorative justice practices to address repair of harm/compensation to victim and community.
  • Participates in job-related training and workshops for professional growth.
  • Performs other related duties as requested or required.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree and related experience.

Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

  • A bachelor's degree is required in criminal justice or human services or social services program with six (6) months' experience.
