ABOUT CHILDREN SERVICES OF ROXBURY:
Founded in 1972 Children’s Services of Roxbury’s (CSR) mission is to provide high quality services to economically disadvantaged children, youth, families, and individuals thereby promoting and strengthening family life and individual growth. CSR serves approximately 6,000 families across Massachusetts, serving families through four key services areas; Early Education and Care, Behavioral Health Services, Youth and Family Services and Housing and Stabilization. There are 22 programs operating under those four services areas. CSR operates across in 4 cities, has a staff of 400 employees, and an operating budget of $28M.

OVERVIEW:
Children’s Services of Roxbury is committed to providing support and services that build on the strengths of the biological family system, address possible risks, and prevent out-of-family placements. However, in situations where this is not possible, CSR’s Comprehensive Foster Care Program works to place children in stable, loving, nurturing foster homes. Our goal is to find both short-term and long-term placements for at-risk children and youth with a broad range of emotional, physical and developmental special needs. Reunification with the child’s biological family is our goal. When that is not feasible, foster care providers and staff work together to formulate an alternate plan for permanency such as kinship care, guardianship, or adoption.

Summary:

Identification, recruitment, and support of prospective Intensive Foster Care Families. Follow up aggressively with each potential foster family in accordance with the established procedure. Assist potential foster families in the completion of their requirements for certification. Assist in developing and carrying out the marketing plan within an assigned geographical area. Willing to work evenings and weekends in order to meet with families who are unable to meet during regular working hours. Attend weekend recruiting Events.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement marketing, recruitment, public relations, and strategies to ensure availability of qualified applicants
  • Coordinate recruitment needs.
  • Will gather all information necessary to complete a CORI, SORI, DCF History check and fingerprints on prospective foster families
  • Analyze, respond to, and resolve recruitment issues
  • Bi-Weekly supervision meetings with supervisor
  • Will keep narrative on each family inquiry. Complete Tracking form, Family Application A and B
  • Review final IFC applicant’s paperwork for accuracy and completeness
  • Enter and Upload all Inquiry/Applicant Information into the Virtual Gateway. Enter all dictations, background checks, gather any court documents/police report/personal statements and references. Complete Application A and B, Standard Reviews (as necessary) and upload all required documents/
  • Obtain and maintain Social Work/Mental Health License

Mayor Measurable Goals:

  • Recruit a minimum of forty (20) prospective families
  • Participate in four (4) MAPP trainings per fiscal year

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in areas of recruitment and public relations
  • Criminal Record Clearance CORI, SORI, Fingerprints
  • A philosophy of support for abused children in line with values and mission of Children’s Service of Roxbury
  • Reliable and registered car for daily use
  • A valid MA driver’s license
  • 2 years’ experience with foster/adoptive families
  • BA/BS in Social Work
  • Certification in MAPP training curriculum preferred
  • Excellent written/oral presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and linguistically work environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and social media savvy
