MISSION INTEGRATION ENGINEER

Based out of Rocket Lab's our headquarters in Long Beach, CA the Mission Integration Engineer serves as a key point of contact for customers throughout the lifecycle of mission, from contract signing all the way through spacecraft deployment and activation. This role will actively support all mission management and integration activities including proposals, mission execution and delivery, and hands-on integration activities.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:

  • Collaborate with mission managers in supporting multiple Rocket Lab customer missions, including regular telecons and formal communications with the customer
  • Work with internal Rocket Lab subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure clear communication of mission requirements and objectives, providing a smooth end-to-end mission delivery for the customer
  • Help lead mission planning and assist with creation and maintenance of master schedules for missions
  • Contribute to the quality of major contractual deliverables, including customer reviews and interface control documentation
  • Support payload integration activities, including fit checks, separation testing, and final integration and verification activities at the launch site
  • Development of integration skillset, including training and certifications needed to interface with separation system and dispenser hardware
  • Ensure launch manifests are met to deadline

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2 years of space industry experience
  • Experience working with spacecraft or launch vehicles

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Minimum 2 years in technical project management or systems engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills
  • Minimum 2 years performing hands-on work with hardware
  • Experience working with CubeSats or other small payloads
  • Active Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance
  • Experience in negotiating technical deliverables
  • Experience working across teams and with customers
  • Excellent attention to detail and good organization skills
  • Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends to support mission schedules


The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

In addition to base salary, Rocket Lab offers a comprehensive total compensation offer package based on individual qualifications and experience, including company stock. Employees will also be eligible for medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plan options, and to purchase discounted stock through Rocket Lab's Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Pay Range (CA Only)

$115,000—$140,000 USD
