Reports to: Vice President of Sales and Marketing

  • Primary Purpose:

The primary purpose of the Inside Sales Rep position is to sell Ames’ products, obtain new customers and retain existing customers. This position does require reading and writing fluency in both English and Spanish.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Communication: o Answer the phone in a friendly and professional demeanor. o Respond to customers in a timely manner o Offer product advice o Establish a good relationship with the customer: make the customer feel welcomed to call back o Create relationships that ensure customers will want to return, and share their experience in a positive way with others o Take notes on customer product complaints and forwarding them to management for review o Effectively communicate directions and descriptions of our products, whether it be through phone, email, or in person o Able to fluidly read and write both in English and Spanish

Organization and Self-Management o Achieve sales objectives and perform outstanding customer service o Ability to self-manage with strong drive o Ability to work alone or as a team o Keep workplace organized and clean o Understand project enhancements and changes, and consider order opportunities o Assist with sales and marketing initiatives. o Develop placement on bid lists and harvest referrals o Possess good time management skills o Manage warranty issues and resolutions o Critical thinking and out-of-the-box methods and marketing strategies o Determine and understand sales demographics o Process sales orders and returns o Create quotes for potential sales orders o Ability to use Ames’ CRM application o Ability to develop required annual business plan o Be a dedicated team player

Customers: o Good knowledge of marketing, branding, pricing, and instructions o Negotiate pricing with our customers based on shipping, advertising, sales and returns o Negotiate Dropship prices o Obtain scorecard updates from major retailers o Create presentations for our customers about our new lines of products o Run booths and advertise our products at trade shows, both in person and online o Familiarity with Product Competitor Analysis o Familiarity with Product Descriptions o Cold Calling Roofing Companies and Contractors o Generate facility maintenance leads o Acquire new accounts, penetrate and retain existing accounts

Other Duties o Performing other duties as assigned by management

  • Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

The minimum qualifications and experience for this position include: o Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or three or more years of experience in sales and marketing o Reading and writing fluency in both English and Spanish o Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills o Superior prioritization skills o Ability to problem solve and think critically o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment o Proficient in the Microsoft Suites and general computer skills o Experience with CRM software o Skillful in both verbal and written communication o Ability to take on special projects o Performance of basic math skills o Multi-tasking capability o Ability to type 40WPM o Experience working with a multi-line phone system o Willingness to learn and be self-motivated o Familiar and comfortable working in a Corporate Office environment. Dress professionally. o Experience in estimating commercial roofing materials

  • Training Requirements:

Ames will provide the following training: o Orientation to Ames’ policies, core business, and culture o Basic training about the products and services provided by Ames o Use of office machines (computer, phone, fax, printer, etc.) o Safety procedures o Special training may be performed on an as needed basis

  • Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this position require: o Extended computer use o Occasional extended periods of standing o Walking throughout facility o Sitting for long periods of time

  • Mental or Visual Demands:

The mental/visual demands for this position are as follows: o Ability to multitask and handle stress o Self-motivation to start and stay focused on task, maintaining a working “to do” list o Occasional long periods of computer use o Good organization

  • Attendance

This hourly position requires 40 hours of work per week during Ames’ published working hours, excluding a one-half hour period for lunch.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
