The Office of Student Accounts is looking to recruit an Information Systems Specialist, Intermediate, to assist with technical and information systems support for the department. This position supports multiple software tools and systems, ensures data integrity, and develops department reports.

Examples of duties include:

  • Provides technical and professional level expertise using various programming tools in supporting, documenting, and monitoring applications for routine to complex Student
    Accounts processes and reports.
  • Applies systems analytical expertise to assist Student Accounts staff with processing functions that facilitate their assigned areas of responsibility including: ad hoc reports; Banner job processing, queries and population selections utilized in mailings; student billings; and other activities.
  • Participates in project teams and serve as a technical liaison to facilitate other systems-related activities including: serving on the Key Dependency and Data Quality teams; serving on project teams to assist with ongoing production jobs (e.g., student billing, sponsored billing, 1098T processing. Insurance processing, fee assessment, drop for non-payment, refunds, and other cron production jobs); and collaborating with Production Calendar Group members to organize/coordinate Banner AR processes that merge timelines of production jobs with operations conducted by the Registration, Financial Aid, and Business Services offices.
  • Creates audit reports that review all accounts receivable processing and transactions using Banner and vendor reports for use in identifying exceptions to normal processing.

Qualifications:

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

In addition to meeting the minimum hiring standards, preference may be given to those who meet the following: Intermediate understanding of programming language skills to include SQL/PL, C++, C. Experience with Argos report or any reporting tool. Possess strong written and oral communication skills, technical skills, ability to solve problems through the identification and analysis of diverse issues and report on status and progress; ability to effectively plan and manage resources, time, and activities for multiple complex projects; interpersonal skills necessary to effectively manage internal and external relationships. Use of Banner, Touchnet Bill + Payment highly desirable.
