During the 2022-2023 school year, RMP is driving after five big goals:
1. Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students will grow, on average, 1.25 years in math and reading. Pre-K students will grow on average 1 year.
2. 50% of 3rd to 5th grade students will read a million words.
3. 3rd grade through 5th grade students taking CMAS will score an average of 45 % on track for the next grade level with 10% scoring exceeds expectations.
4. At least 90% of students who start at RMP, stay at RMP.
5. Teacher retention will be at least 85%.

Role Mission
At Rocky Mountain Prep, our Childcare Center centers around three primary beliefs: childcare is school and school is childcare, early learning takes many shapes and forms, and relationships matter. A lead teacher is responsible for coordinating high-quality care and implementing developmentally-appropriate curricular plans. You will build relationships with children and families, and maintain a safe and nurturing environment as you manage the day-to-day needs of the classroom. You will also foster and maintain strong professional relationships within the school community.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with the lead teacher and other assistant teachers to supervise and care for a classroom of infants and toddlers
  • Assist with:
  • Support with meal preparation and cleanup, diaper changes, individualized rest and play
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and responsive learning environment for infants and toddlers between the ages of six weeks and three years old
  • Support with lessons and provide age-appropriate enriching activities to support curiosity and growthPossess a growth mindset
  • Effectively maintain professional relationships with teaching assistant and other staff Collaborate with families to understand the daily care needs of individual children, and develop and follow a classroom care schedule to meet those needs
  • Keep accurate, concise records Hold conferences and events with families to share information regarding child growth and development, as well as partner together to plan aheadCommunicate with families daily, both in person and through Brightwheel, and prepare timely and accurate updates for families
  • Ensure compliance with all requirements, conforming to health, safety, state and licensing guidelines
  • Engage in ongoing training and development as needed
  • Participate in and complete group and individual professional development to stay current with center requirements and develop best practices
  • Maintain up-to-date PDIS profile and professional development plan
  • Follow all center policies and procedures
  • Follow procedures to open or close classrooms at designated times, and flexibly assist in another classroom as needed
  • Other duties as required

In this role, you will help drive 4 goals:

  • Manage and guide high-quality early childhood programming to support cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical development
  • Provide excellent care and communication to families
  • Demonstrate skilled judgment and decision-making to care for children ranging from 6 weeks to 36 months
  • Support in achieving a Colorado Shines Rating


Qualifications:

  • Required
  • Ability to lift and hold children, and sustain daily activities including: walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, bending, and crouching
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Pass a background check
  • Reliable transportation
  • Current immunization record and physician health screen
  • History of working with infants and toddlers and understanding of child development
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
  • Preferred
  • ECT or infant program supervisor qualification (PDIS level II credential 3.0)
  • Experience with childcare centers
  • Assistant teacher qualification (PDIS level I credential 3.0)
  • One year of experience working with infants and toddlers

Salary

  • This is a full-time, benefits eligible position paying $20/hr
