We are in need of caregivers in the following areas:

  • Waukegan
  • Maywood
  • Des Plaines
  • Elk Grove Village
  • Romeoville
  • and more!

We are seeking attentive and trustworthy caregivers to join our staff in providing excellent care to our clients. The caregiver will follow a daily care schedule with clients who have difficulty performing basic day-to-day activities, for example, the elderly, disabled persons, or people suffering from chronic medical conditions and report on any new conditions or needs that may arise. This work typically takes place in the clients’ homes or in special care facilities.

To succeed as a caregiver, you should:

  • Be patient, empathetic, and have strong people skills.
  • Be observant and committed to making your client feel safe and comfortable.
  • Establish a relationship with client and family to promote trust and respect.

DUTIES:

  • Assist with personal care, which may include bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals, follow any dietary restrictions as directed by the plan of care.
  • Assist with medication reminders.
  • Ensure the client’s home is organized and clean which may include some light housework and that safety measures are in place.
  • Maintain infection control and prevention procedures.
  • Recognize emergencies both personal and environmental; follow emergency procedures including basic first aid and implementation of a client’s emergency preparedness plan.
  • Recognize signs of elder abuse or neglect and follow proper reporting processes.
  • Exhibit good communication skills with the clients who are hard of hearing, have dementia, or have other special needs.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks.
  • Providing mobility assistance may be required, for example helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair.
  • Escorting the client to medical and other appointments.
  • Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavior, and needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED; or 1 year of employment caring for dependent child or adult family member
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • A professional and friendly attitude
  • A willingness to work flexible hours, which may include weekend coverage
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
