Position Summary: Hatfield Jame Masjid (HJM) is looking for an educated, experienced, skilled and inspirational Imam on a full-time basis to undertake the duties of the

Masjid. HJM is looking for a charismatic person with Islamic knowledge, sound communication and leadership skills to take the religious responsibilities of the community and educational affairs of HJM, also, the ability to lead the daily prayers.

Duties and

Responsibility: ● Lead the daily prayers and deliver the Friday sermons.

● Conduct all other prayers as required such as Eid and funeral prayers.

● Manage weekend Islamic classes and extracurricular activities.

● Develop & implement adult/youth educational classes

● Participate in Dawah events, live streaming, and media

● Involve in organizing Islamic community events

● Work with HJM Executive Committee (EC) to organize fundraising program.

● Provide with Quran, Hadith, Sirah and Fiqh lessons (including Q&A) to increase spiritual growth of community members.

Qualification and Skills:

● A holder of a bachelor’s degree in Islamic studies or a related field from a reputed institution.

● Must have comprehensive knowledge of Islamic creed, Quran and Hadith with the ability to apply it within current social prospective.

● Ability to recite Quran with proper tajweed including memorization of a significant portion of the Quran.

● Must be fluent in both English and Arabic (spoken and writing). Fluency in Bengali/Hindi/Urdu is a plus.

● Experience of teaching both youth and adults.

● Experience on developing programs that encourage participation form the community.

● Must be authorized to work in the United States, visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
