The Illustrator I will convert supplied source graphic files from their legacy format to a scalable “SVG” S1000D compliant formats. This is a temporary position up to six months that may have the opportunity to become permanent.

The Illustrator I will:

  • Perform the conversion of source graphics from their legacy format to S1000D compliant SVG
  • Incorporate intelligence (hotspot linking, searchable text) into SVG graphics for integration into Interactive Electronic Technical Manual.
  • Perform editing, and quality control functions to produce technical publications ensuring technical data is accurate, complete, meets S1000D and MIL-STD requirements and adheres to the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate with team members, subject matter experts, and customers to understand and meet product expectations.
  • Participate in IETM validation/verification, peer reviews and technical reviews.
  • Responsible for meeting technical program/contractual obligations resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Requirements:

  • Effective computer graphics manipulation skills, specifically provisional military, and mid-stage vector graphics.
  • Understanding of common image file formats and their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Functional in web programming skills (JavaScript, HTML5, XML, regex, SVG 1.1 scripting (SMIL 2.0), and CSS).
  • Creates data visualization tools, libraries, and reusable code components.
  • Eye for detail, progress tracking, ability to multitask and switch gears quickly.
  • Expertise working as part of a dynamic, interactive graphics and programming team.
  • Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of experience with graphic design and creative content development.

The pay range information provided is a general guideline. The pay rate offered will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, as well as geographic locations, market and other business considerations as permitted by law.
