The Human Resources Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function in a non-Union Distribution Center and Retail Stores.

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention and succession planning.
  • Performance management – resolve employee grievances, and counsel employees and supervisors regarding employee issues, performance gaps, disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Partners with management to maintain safety compliance and employee training.
  • Risk Management – ensures safety programs are properly implemented, reports and collaborates with workers’ comp carrier to manage claims, and identifies root cause of accidents to prevent recurrence.
  • Promote diversity awareness in hiring practices
  • Mentor managers on employee development best practices
  • Responsible for administering performance management program
  • Advise leadership on hiring and terminations
  • Oversee the administration of payroll, employee benefits and FMLA
  • Provide guidance on employee behavior and conflict resolution
  • Conduct investigations in response to employee complaints
  • Partner with leadership to develop succession plans
  • Oversees new hire onboarding process
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment law
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, and Abilities:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP preferred
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Experience with PeopleSoft, Workday, and Kronos is a plus.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written or schedule form.
  • Customer Focus – Ability to maintain effective and positive relationships and be committed to customer satisfaction.
