Macdonald & Cody, LLP is an established insurance defense litigation firm specializing in catastrophic personal injury cases with office locations in Irvine, Riverside and Monrovia is actively recruiting for a Human Resources Manager. This position will be based out of our Irvine office.
Responsibilities:
- Lifecycle processes of an employee which include hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, development and termination.
- Recruitment including job descriptions, place ads, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, administering background checks and document verifications.
- Coach and counsel issues involving performance and policy violations, recommend and initiate the appropriate course of action.
- Assesses employee engagement and collaborate with management and employees to improve work relationships and increase productivity and retention.
- Ensure the firm remains compliance with federal, state and local laws.
- Attend employment seminars.
- Manage all aspects of employee benefits programs.
- Maintain and update the employee handbook.
- Maintain personnel files including payroll deductions and timecard corrections.
- Assist in various other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Thorough knowledge of California employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or work experience equivalent.
- SHRM-CP, is a plus.
- Law firm experience is a plus, but not required.

- The salary range in California for this role is $90,000 -$115,000 and represents the firm's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidates experience, qualifications and location.
