Macdonald & Cody, LLP is an established insurance defense litigation firm specializing in catastrophic personal injury cases with office locations in Irvine, Riverside and Monrovia is actively recruiting for a Human Resources Manager. This position will be based out of our Irvine office.
Responsibilities:
  • Lifecycle processes of an employee which include hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, development and termination.
  • Recruitment including job descriptions, place ads, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, administering background checks and document verifications.
  • Coach and counsel issues involving performance and policy violations, recommend and initiate the appropriate course of action.
  • Assesses employee engagement and collaborate with management and employees to improve work relationships and increase productivity and retention.
  • Ensure the firm remains compliance with federal, state and local laws.
  • Attend employment seminars.
  • Manage all aspects of employee benefits programs.
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook.
  • Maintain personnel files including payroll deductions and timecard corrections.
  • Assist in various other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of California employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or work experience equivalent.
  • SHRM-CP, is a plus.
  • Law firm experience is a plus, but not required.

  • The salary range in California for this role is $90,000 -$115,000 and represents the firm's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidates experience, qualifications and location.
