LIV Development is actively searching for a Human Resource Manager. The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including assisting in hiring and onboarding staff, administering pay, benefits, leave, regulatory compliance and enforcing company policies and practices. The role is based in Birmingham, Alabama and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
  • Responsible for new hire onboarding and utilizing and maintaining the HR system of record
  • Benefit and PTO administration, including communicating with employees as they call with questions regarding their benefits
  • Completes semi-monthly payroll processing in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Maintain employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Responsible for performance review process, including initiating and collecting reviews for HR system of record
  • Assists with learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Formulates and implements HR policies and procedures for the company
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, prioritize tasks and attention to detail
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in HR/Payroll software package
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field a plus
  • Five+ years of human resource management experience preferred
  • HR professional credentials a plus
