THIS IS A REMOTE OPPORTUNITY

Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Director of Human Resources to support one of our Business vertical. In this role you will work as a strategic business partner who shares responsibility for achievement of business goals. You will play an integral role in assessing organizational effectiveness and guiding the development and implementation of strategic solutions that reflect the changing workforce and business dynamics in support of the business strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • In partnership with business leaders, develop and implement a talent plan that ensures the organization has the right talent in place to deliver on financial commitments, consistent team performance and a talent bench to ensure continued business growth
  • Develop and implement organizational and employee productivity improvement strategies. Design organizations and roles that provide alignment and efficiency that develop and engage employees. Use metrics to recommend productivity enhancements. Counsel business leaders on team dynamics, coaching employees, training and learning tools, change management and organizational development to meet business objectives
  • Develop and implement creative ways to manage, improve and reward employee performance and increase retention. Work closely with management to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Leverage HR analytics data in support of decision making in the areas of recruitment, talent management, employee engagement, performance and retention
  • Provide counsel to employees and management on employment issues, in conjunction with Legal as needed. Assure compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws. Conduct investigations, provide guidance on performance conduct matters, facilitate the resolution of disputes, interpret company policy, etc
  • Build a work culture that promotes high performance, open communication, inclusiveness, engagement and demonstrates the core values of the company. Ensure plants are connected and aligned with company cultural expectations
  • Design initiatives to support specific business needs. Provide input on talent and workforce capability and implementation of key business HR initiatives. Provide strategic direction and guidance to sites for labor/employee relations to ensure productive relationship with unions. Ensure labor contracts are managed in a cost effective and transparent approach. Partner with Legal to ensure all aspects of the union labor relationship including negotiation of new agreements and strike/dispute prevention strategies. Manage union avoidance strategies in non-union plants
  • Bring thought leadership and experience to change management initiatives in the business. Serve as a change agent and manage the people aspects of organizational change
  • Lead and support implementation of overall HR initiatives with focus on consistency and common approaches across all Graham business verticals
Skills and Capabilities
  • Full understanding of all aspects of HR Management with depth of experience in two or more areas of specialized HR. Proven ability to act as an agent of change and deliver HR solutions to the business
  • Demonstrated practical approach to organizational issues as a business partner
  • Management of remote employee populations required
  • Strong thought leadership and best practices in HR, Recruiting, Performance Management, Compliance, and Talent Management/Development
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Requires complex analytical, technical and/or management capabilities
  • Strong business acumen with an ability to learn, understand and converse around significant business issues including financial drivers
  • Ability to simultaneously be strategic and tactical. Must be able to think strategically and connect HR plans with business results
  • Advanced coaching/consulting, conflict resolution and facilitation skills. Must expertly build relationships and collaborate with Business Vertical Leadership Team and HR Leadership Team
  • Strong customer focused mindset
  • Excellent ability to communicate across broad constituencies with demonstrated ability to influence throughout the organization
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, or Business Administration or equivalent. MS in HR or MBA desirable
  • 10+ years’ experience – Union/Labor Relations experience in manufacturing/operationally-oriented environment preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or similar
  • Must be willing to travel 30%
The standard compensation for this role is $139,400 - $201,300. Salary offers will be determined based on final candidate qualifications, experience, skillset, and other relevant factors.

Compensation Statement: The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience. Benefits Statement: Benefits include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance.
