Title: Human Resources Generalist

If you are a professional who enjoys working with and helping people our Human Resources Generalist position is for you! The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting our IT, Dispatch, Sales, Quality and Training departments. This role will professionally perform all HR related duties for the assigned departments including, but not limited to: employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, staff recruitment (concentration in IT), on/off-boarding, employee retention, and employment law compliance. This position requires someone who is consistent, dedicated, and able to work effectively with others in a team environment.

A successful candidate is well versed and experienced in general HR matters, possess excellent communication skills, has experience working with remote groups of people, is able to manage multiple matters concurrently, and effectively acts with minimal supervision while communicating and consulting with their direct manager.

Our Human Resources Generalist position will primarily support our Farmington Hills, MI team and will report into our Director of Human Resources based out of Long Beach, California.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all internal and external HR related matters
  • Develop strong relationships and partnerships with hiring managers, business leaders and associates
  • Act as main point of contact for HR related situations and queries to sustain healthy employee relations
  • Investigate complaints brought forward by employees
  • Carryout HR policies and procedures
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job boards/publications/colleges/social media, etc.
  • Source and recruits active and passive candidates from various resources, including job boards, online searches and techniques, social media, networking, employee referral campaigns, university recruitment, job fairs, and others
  • Manage the recruitment process by identifying and contacting potential candidates, reviewing candidates with hiring managers, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks and issuing employment offers and contracts
  • Ability to successfully and appropriately negotiate job offers with candidates based on pre-authorized parameters
  • Initiates candidate background check and drug testing (post-hire)
  • Ensures transition of new hire through the entire recruiting/selection and onboarding process; inclusive of new hire orientations
  • Maintain, update and/or assist in the development of job descriptions and job specifications
  • Ensure all employee records are maintained and updated with new hire information or changes in employment status; inclusive of offboarding tasks
  • Provide analytical and well-documented employee reports to the rest of the team
  • Monitor and apply HR best practices inclusive of labor law compliance
  • Work closely with the management team to identify areas to improve employee engagement, training and development experience
  • Actively participate in HR related activities and engage in cross functional projects
  • Regular and consistent availability and attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field; or professional education in the Human Resource area
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources (Technology/IT driven workforce a plus)
  • Experience and level of comfort speaking with candidates about various IT and Analytics programs
  • Familiarity with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). UKG/Ultipro experience a plus
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented with a focus on quality results/deliverables
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high caliber and dynamic environment
  • Proficient in Office 365 Applications
  • Precise data entry and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of local and federal labor laws
  • Understanding of work sponsored immigration laws a plus
  • Knowledge of personnel management processes
  • A calm and professional disposition with a high level of motivation and initiative
  • High sense of responsibility
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business success
