HR Assistant ($17.00 - $22.00/hr)

We are seeking an enthusiastic HR Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a broad knowledge of human resources functions such as recruitment, on-boarding, and benefits. This individual works closely with the Human Resources Manager to support departmental needs and ensure compliance with company, multi-state and federal policies and employment laws. This is an in-office position with work hours of Monday - Friday from 9am to 6pm EST.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Assist with the day-to day operations of the human resources department functions and duties.
    • Provide support in the areas of hiring and on-boarding/off-boarding employees.
    • Maintain employee files electronically
    • Serve as contact person for employee questions e.g., onboarding, payroll, and related HR topics.
    • Assist with facility supply needs by identifying and ordering products; hand soap, printer paper, pens etc.
    • Contacting and working with outside vendors such as cleaning company and pest control
    • Maintain complete and accurate personnel files in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
    • Assist with reception duties; i.e. receiving packages and directing visitors to the correct office
    • Audit employee files and licenses periodically; Assist with mandatory state audits
    • Additional tasks as assigned

  • Qualifications:
    • 2 years experience working in Human Resources or 4 year degree in HR.
    • Excited to tackle new projects, learn grow, and be flexible
    • Ability to navigate and apply federal and state employment laws for multi-states.
    • Proven ability to treat confidential matters with appropriate discretion and privacy.
    • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis in Outlook, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
    • Experience with HRIS or HCM systems a plus.
    • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to engage with team members at all levels of the company.
