Job Duties

We offer a sign on bonus of up to $1,000 to employees new to state.Western State Hospital is currently seeking applicants for a Housekeeping Supervisor. Hours are primarily 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, but may vary occasionally. This position is responsible for supervision to housekeeping employees assuring a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Western State Hospital and the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents. As a working supervisor assists workers with their duties and fills in for absent workers when needed. Applies knowledge of supervisory principles following all WSH, CCCA, DBHDS and COV policies. Assures that assigned employees are properly trained and that they follow their training working in a safe and productive manor. Coordinates their activities with other departments. Motivates employees to meet expectations and keeps accurate records on employee performance and counseling. Must see that available staffing is properly distributed to best meet the needs of the hospital. Will approve leave and perform evaluations for their employees. Assists housekeepers with cleaning duties and fills in as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in housekeeping techniques and supervision required. Valid Operator’s License required.

Preferred Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent desirable. Experience in Healthcare housekeeping techniques preferred. Bi-Lingual in Spanish is preferred. Veteran is preferred.
