POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform a variety of general housekeeping duties in resident rooms, public areas and other interior/exterior facility areas and assist in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for residents while meeting or exceeding quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ø Clean, disinfect and straighten resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, common areas, stairways, laundry room and other work areas so health standards are met.

Ø Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies using a vacuum cleaner and/or shampooer.

Ø Sweep, scrub, wax and/or polish floors using a broom, mop, power scrubber and/or waxing machine.

Ø Scour, scrub, and disinfect sinks, tubs, toilets and bathing rooms.

Ø Polish silver accessories and metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.

Ø Dust and polish furniture, woodwork and equipment.

Ø Wash windows, door panels and sills.

Ø Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas / trash receptacles.

Ø Clean up spills, soiled areas and other conditions as observed or directed.

Ø Collect, wash, dry, fold and distribute all laundry for the facility following the approved laundry procedures.

Ø Move and replace furniture as needed.

Ø Ensure equipment is safe and stored properly and work areas are safe.

Ø Replace light bulbs.

Ø Adhere to procedures regarding cleaners or other hazardous materials.

Ø Restock/reorder supplies as necessary within budget and properly store them.

Ø Ensure universal precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety and sanitation practices and procedures are followed

Ø Properly report any hazardous conditions and equipment, incidents or accidents.

Ø Attend in-service and other training as required.

Ø Understand, comply with and promote Resident Rights.

Ø Promote positive relationships with residents, visitors and regulators.

Ø Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.

Ø Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and employees.

Ø Perform other duties as required.

Ø Support, reinforce, communicate, and defend the mission, vision, values, philosophy and culture of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ø A passion for caring for the elderly Ø High School diploma or GED required.

Ø Prior housekeeping experience preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $12.00 per hour
