The Hospice RN -Director of Quality and Education will lead, develop, establish and maintain a continuous quality improvement culture (CQI) through initiatives, training and education to ensure the goals of Lifesong Hospice and Palliative Care (a Leader family company) clients who reside at participating Leader family-owned and managed retirement communities: Country Meadows Retirement Communities, Ecumenical Retirement Community and Providence Place Senior Living. Manages the quality assessment and process improvement (QAPI) process to ensure appropriate tracking, trending and analysis of clinical indicators. Will lead and develop the direction of the quality committee. Serves as the Lead Coordinator for any state survey and manages the plan of correction following a survey. As Staff Educator, will develop, coordinate and evaluate all clinical educational programs in regulatory and quality areas.

  • Position is Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm
  • Based out of our Harrisburg Office with regional travel to Central Pa., York and Lehigh Valley office.
  • Must have specific prior Hospice Experience

Director of Quality and Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Manage the QAPI program for Hospice
  • Serves as chair for the company Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement committee.
  • Develops and implements the QAPI program with annual review/revision as needed.
  • Collects and analyzes performance improvement data and leads/monitors the development, implementation and evaluation of action plans for improvement.
  • Participates with senior leadership to track organizational performance that measures and analyzes clinical, operational, administrative, financial, compliance, regulatory accreditation, and customer satisfaction results.
  • Maintains awareness of new quality trends, practice tools, techniques to determine usefulness and applicability to this organization.
  • Builds and strengthens the relationships between quality, safety and risk management.
  • Prepares, analyzes and summarizes data from the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Committee to present when requested. Is able to make innovative, constructive recommendations for action based on the data and resources available.
  • Serves as the resource for leadership on regulatory standards, survey compliance.
  • Serves as the lead team member to maintain survey readiness:
  • Supports the administrative and clinical team during surveys.
  • Assists with the preparation, implementation and reevaluation of plans of correction.
  • Develops, coordinates, presents, and evaluates educational programs for staff education in regulatory and quality areas.
  • Identifies trends and opportunities for clinical, professional and administrative improvement.

Director of Quality and Compliance Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant clinical experience.
  • Clinically competent, as evidence by annual performance evaluation.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent observation, problem-solving skills, presentation skills including verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrates excellent teaching skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop educational programs.
  • Requires autonomy, organization and exceptional time management skills.
  • Required experience with clinical information technology and/or electronic medical record in a health care setting.

  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/EDUCATION
  • BSN or B.S. in health related field required, Master’s preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in PA.
