POSITION: HIV Program Specialist

RESPONSIBLE TO: HIV Programs Manager

SCHEDULE: 10:00a - 6:00p

ON-SITE V. REMOTE: 70% mobile office working / 30% community outreach

PAY RANGE: $24.54 - $26.82 / hour

SUMMARY: The role of the HIV Program Specialist is to provide sexual health education to the community and/or specified target populations. This is a grant-funded position for the duration of the grant period and an hourly, non-exempt position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AD, BS/BA degree or equivalent experience required.
  • High comfort level in discussing sexuality issues.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of sexual health preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.
  • Bi or multi-lingual preferred and may be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide specialized outreach and education to priority populations.
  • Guide clients in the identification of and connection to appropriate community resources.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, delivery and continual revision of program curricula, outreach plans, screening tools, and evaluation plans.
  • Maintain and promote program goals and objectives.
  • Collect and monitor program data for tracking and monthly reporting.
  • Administer intakes, assessments and exit interview to program participants.
  • Assist HIV Programs Manager in preparing monthly and yearly reports illustrating qualitative and quantitative program data.
  • Assist HIV Program Manager in the creation and delivery of educational sessions for internal and external clients regarding HIV Programs.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with outside organizations in an effort to develop opportunities for PPRM services and educational programs.
  • Represent PPRM and promote its mission and services to the community.
  • In collaboration with the HIV Programs Manager, market the programs to community agencies and program participants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Participates in abortion services (participation can include referrals, information, education, counseling, performing, scheduling, etc.)

COVID-19 Vaccine & Booster: PPRM requires that all employees are fully vaccinated and boosted as a condition of employment. An employee is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the second dose of a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) or one dose of a single- dose vaccination (Johnson and Johnson/Janssen). The COVID-19 vaccine booster shot is required by the first day of employment, or five months after receiving the final dose of the original vaccine series, whichever is later. Proof must be uploaded upon starting. You will upload a picture or pdf of your vaccination card(s) on your first day of orientation.

Flu Protocol: All employees working directly with patients or working in a health center will be required to have the flu shot or wear a mask during patient contact or while in the health center from October 1 – April 30 each year (Flu Season). The flu shot will be available to health center employees in the health center in addition to being able to seek the flu vaccine externally through the medical plan or reimbursement.
