Position Summary

The High School Initiatives Manager will be responsible for a portfolio of projects related to dual credit, communication and outreach, program development, and infrastructure development for Seattle Colleges' current and prospective high school students. This position may also represent Seattle Colleges on a statewide level.

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-SPS.

What you will be working on:

  • Act as the Seattle Colleges' liaison to the Seattle Public Schools, additional school districts including skills centers, CBO and governmental partners, on CTE high school initiatives and other youth sector-specific projects
  • Establish relationships and manage communications at the administrative, faculty, and student levels between Seattle Colleges and school district contacts
  • Establish new inter-local agreements for dual credit coursework and programs, and ensure compliance/maintenance of existing agreements
  • Support the execution of the scope of work in grants that include K12 participation; manage secondary aspects of federal, state and local grant-funded projects and initiatives
  • Develop and coordinate activities targeted to high school students and their parents, including marketing, in-person events such as "try-a-trades" and Discovery Seattle Colleges Days, and direct outreach strategies
  • Manage administration of the CTE Dual Credit program and related high school initiatives, including reporting on student data as required for the Seattle Colleges or Seattle Public Schools, overseeing course registration, updating/maintaining the SERS database, and end-of-year transcripting
  • Work collaboratively with other Seattle Colleges staff on creating an integrated approach to expanding and implementing high school partnership programs, including Running Start, College in the High School and Seattle Promise.
  • Oversee and manage CTE dual credit budgets including all invoicing and budget reconciliation as needed
  • Collect data and prepare regular communications including reports, updates and presentations

Candidate Qualifications:

(Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (associate degree plus 2 years' relevant work experience)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management and facilitation skills
  • Highly solutions-oriented, with strong initiative and self-direction
  • Strong organization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated experience building and fostering meaningful internal and external professional relationships that honor diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the K-12 environment
  • Ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulations within the secondary and postsecondary systems

Salary range for this position is $64,000 - $73,207
