The Essex Westford School District is seeking a Help Desk Associate to perform various specialized computer installation and support functions. This position serves as a resource to classroom teachers and the educational technology team to integrate technology in the classroom in support of student learning. This is a very front-facing position, and a strong commitment to customer service is key to success. Primary Position responsibilities include:
  • Answering phone and Helpdesk questions for a wide variety of users at EWSD
  • Function as the primary contact for the I.T. Department and facilitate and prioritize work orders.
  • Set up e-mail and user accounts.
  • Maintain and update district technology hardware and supplies inventory.
  • Work cooperatively under the direction of the Director of Technology and Innovation.
  • Maintain Stats page for the I.T. Department.
  • Oversee and carry out various day-to-day departmental administrative functions.
  • Prepare basic user instruction guides to assist teachers.
Secondary duties include:
  • Install and perform repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Serve as a roving Helpdesk support as needed from location to location in the District
  • Act as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data implements solutions or notify outsource providers as required.

  • Minimum of two years of directly related experience, including computer network experience.
  • Knowledge and ability to install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair applicable software, hardware, and peripherals.
  • Strong experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, projectors, large display monitors/ TVs, and other media systems.
  • Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills
