Position Summary:

Handbag design development facility seeks a highly skilled and experienced Full-Time Handbag Pattern/Sample Maker for luxury handbags and leather goods. Pattern/Sample Maker will supervise Machine Operators and Floor Assistants, while collaborating with Floor Manager to complete projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

· Accurately and efficiently, make professional luxury handbag and leather goods patterns in Optitex for prototypes, samples and production purposes.

· Making of prototypes and samples.

· Interpret design cards, specs and technical drawings. Maintain design aesthetic while adhering to company quality standards.

· Supervise and manage projects from start to finish; communicate any issues with Product Development Manager as they arise.

· Manage and delegate work to Machine Operators and Floor Assistants and ensure that company quality standards are maintained.

· Assist with Pattern Maker training, when applicable.

Qualifications:

· Minimum 3+ years working experience as a Handbag and Leather Goods Pattern/Sample Maker for high-end luxury companies.

· Must have working experience and knowledge of the Optitex pattern-making program (training available for suitable candidate).

· Ability to read and interpret design cards, specs and technical drawings.

· Ability to manage and direct Machine Operators and Floor Assistants.

· Extreme attention to detail and quality standard adherence.

· Quality focused with precise patterns, clear pattern annotations, and top quality workmanship.

· Strong problem resolution skills; analyze pattern challenges and execute edits/corrections in a timely manner.

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize; manage projects on the floor while simultaneously developing new patterns, etc.

· Ability to work under tight deadlines and flexibility to work occasional evening and weekend hours, based on the needs of the business.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
