Reports To: Senior Program Director of Health, Wellness & Sport
Work Location: Northwest Area Family YMCA
FLSA: Non-exempt – Part-time
Salary Range: $14.00/hour
Work Schedule: M/t/W 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Position Summary:

This position supports the mission and work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization. Under the direction of the Senior Program Director of Health, Wellness & Sport, the Gym Attendant is responsible for overseeing all of the activities and actions in the Gymnasium. This position requires the incumbent to be able to work in a fast-paced environment with numerous activities going on at once. You must enjoy dealing with youth, teens, adults and seniors in a team or individual setting, sometimes all at once. The Gym Attendant provides leadership and assures the well-being for all, in line with YMCA of the USA guidelines and Association policies.

Experience, Education, and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience playing or working with Sports.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Denstrates excellent planning and organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Members, Directors, Staff and Vendors.
  • Ability to address complaints and concerns, as well as analyze and solve problems.
  • Possess strong experience and skills in member services, monitoring staff, leadership and collaborative relationships.
  • Computer proficient with good time management skills.
