Job Summary
University Facilities is looking for a qualified and experienced Groundskeeper to assist in landscape maintenance, maintain intricate perennial and annual displays, provide general exterior upkeep, and perform snow removal operations for the University's Main Campus location.
Essential Functions
- Mow, trim and edge lawn areas.
- Properly prune all different types of perennials, shrubs and trees.
- Plant and bed care, including planting, weeding, edging and mulching.
- Trash disposal and litter removal.
- All aspects of snow removal and ice melt operations.
- Operation of equipment including skid steers, various lawn mowers, various hand tools, loaders, snow plows, snow blowers, salters, and other landscape equipment.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs. on a frequent basis.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three to five years of commercial or institutional landscape experience is required.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Experience with various equipment including: Zero Turn Mowers, Tractors, Chainsaws, Line Trimmers, Hedge Trimmers, Blowers, Snow Plows, Snow Blowers, Snow Brushes, Mechanically Controlled Salters, Dump Trucks and other various pieces of landscaping equipment.
- Proficiency in Bobcat skid steer operation is a must.
- Proficient in reading a landscape plan and installing new landscapes from start to finish.
- Experience in mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, planting, pruning and snow removal.
- Able to work in adverse weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat.
Preferred Qualifications
- PA Applicator's License

Additional Information
This position is classified as Non-Exempt with a hourly pay of $21.55.
