As the Global Procurement Strategy Lead – Ocean Freight, you will have overall responsibility to develop and execute the Global Ocean Freight category strategy. The role serves as the strategic interface between Kimberley-Clark and our ocean carriers as well as our strategic Control Tower partners. This role leads one of Kimberly’s-Clark’s most visible and focused on categories gaining high level exposure to senior leaders in the business. The role navigates and leverages our Regional Ocean Freight procurement and supply chain teams to develop and execute this globally managed category. Global Ocean Freight in Kimberly-Clark is on an exciting transformation journey. We are in the process of deploying and growing Control Towers that will enhance our data driven decision making in Ocean Freight and will give us advanced capability to optimize our Ocean Freight spend. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively interface and influence a broad range of stakeholders in a globally matrixed network.

Essential Accountabilities:

• Partner closely with regional procurement and operations teams globally
• Enhance and execute a category strategy with a strategic vision/road map for Global Ocean Freight aligned to the business strategy
• Procurement experience is preferred but not required
• Consider additional forms of international freight to bring under global category management
• Work with business leaders to prioritize and standardize change globally that will drive Kimberly-Clark value
• Develop our Control Tower strategy to bring data insights that will enable cost and service optimization
• Proactively share knowledge of Ocean Freight risks, insights, and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Exhibit an expert understanding of Ocean Freight to drive solutions and sourcing events
• Build strong relationships with suppliers including Strategic Relationship Management with our most significant partners
• Lead Ocean Freight’s global sourcing events utilizing Coupa Sourcing Optimization
• Develop and manage a standardized, global supplier management approach that supports and compliments regional supplier performance management

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferably in a Business, Science, Mathematical or similar subject
• 9+ years’ experience working in Supply Chain or Procurement and 4+ years’ experience in Logistics including experience in Ocean Freight
• Experience working in a global, matrix organization, working closely with regional teams to create global strategies demonstrating strong leadership skills
• Excellent relationship management skills, leadership skills and the ability to engage both internal and external stakeholders
• Outstanding collaboration, influencing and communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 25%
