General Summary

Illinois State University, a NCAA Division I institution, member of the Missouri Valley Conference invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for Soccer within the department of Athletics. This pre-professional, 12-month position includes a tuition waiver and a stipend of $1,755 per month. The successful applicant must meet the admission requirements for Illinois State's Graduate School.

Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Assist in daily operations
2. Serve as liaison between coaching staff and support staff, as well as the visiting team
3. Coordinate all aspects of team logistics for home & away matches: develop itineraries, arrange transportation, hotels, meals, training times, video exchange, uniform colors, budget management & budget forecasting
4. Assist with Recruiting: creation of yearly calendar, organization of visits, and ARMS
5. Manage special events: Alumni, Julie Heidecke and Senior Day
6. Aid in Fundraising efforts
7. Field set up: Training Sessions & Game Day Warm Up
8. Video: Film training sessions & games and Game Analysis Hudl & SportsCode
9. Sports Science: Management of GPS monitoring system & assist in periodization
10. Travel with Team
11. Assist with camps and clinics
12. Other duties as assigned

Additional Information

As a part of your responsibilities, you will follow the regulations and guidelines of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Missouri Valley Conference or the Missouri Valley Football Conference, the Athletics Department, and Illinois State University.

This 12-month appointment will consist of a 2-month summer appointment (either as a monthly GA or an hourly student position depending on course enrollment) and a 10-month GA appointment for August to May.

Required Qualifications

1. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can be found at http://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf
2. Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in Exercise Physiology, Psychology of Sport & Physical Activity, Recreation Administration, Sport Management, or MBA
3. Collegiate soccer experience
4. Exceptional organization and/or leadership experience
