Job Overview

The Furnace Operator produces gas atomized powders, at the correct size, and quality necessary to achieve world class coating and printing products.

Requirements

• Reads, understands and uses Product Manufacturing Instructions (PMI’s), Job-Safety Analysis’ (JSA), and melt production schedule to accomplish daily production tasks
• Safely operates atomization equipment (i.e. Atomizer, blenders, vacuum equipment, power cabinet, overhead crane, forklift, etc.)
• Performs basic math including percentages to calculate and weigh out materials
• Repairs and cleans furnaces
• Tracks data and updates charts for the department
• Performs simple, in-process quality tests to determine material status
• Uses database management tools such as Oracle, eAM, etc.
• Other Duties Assigned

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2+ years’ manufacturing experience required
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required
• Ability to subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure required
• Crane operator/Forklift experience preferred
• Capable of lifting to 40lbs
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, hand and finger manipulation, occasional stooping, crouching, and climbing
