Full-Time Onsite Registered Nurse Needed at our Corpus Christi, TX location with every other week travel to Beeville, TX (not overnight) - if you are local to the Corpus Christi area and looking for something long-term, we encourage you to apply.

Our visionary team is seeking a local Full-Time RN, 40 hours per week (some overtime required) for our Onsite Occupational Health and Disease Management (DM) Program for our Corpus Christi, TX and Beeville, TX locations. The ideal candidate will be willing to work independently and with physician(s), the Regional Operations Manager, and the Chief Operations Officer to provide outstanding employee/patient care. Candidate will be patient/client centered, flexible, and gradually take ownership in their position. We are a company with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for restoring the patient-provider relationship.

**This position is similar to a school nurse, but in an organizational setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver care according to the professional nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Document patient care efficiently in the company’s designated electronic medical programs/records.
  • Assess work injuries and perform first aid as needed; refer to higher level of care as clinically indicated.
  • Perform drug testing as well as post-accident urine drug tests per DOT guidelines.
  • Perform blood draws, vaccinations, and medication injections.
  • Assists health providers with onsite DM assessments, documentation, and follow-up care.
  • Manage Workers Compensation injury cases; attend physician office appointments and assist with communication between physician and injured worker; collaborate with insurance adjusters to ensure a seamless process; report claims to insurance carriers.
  • Provide case management for patients meeting DM criteria and patients with plan of care including medication refills, post-surgical complications, and referral management.
  • Perform Post-Offer Evaluations for new employees, Biometric Screenings and as well as Occupational Health Assessments in accordance with the DOT, ADA, EEOC and HIPAA.
  • Maintain infection control standards per state and national guidelines; clean/set-up rooms between patient exams.
  • Perform administrative tasks in support of patient services according to the needs of the clinic and as directed by management.
  • Complete 10 hours of continuing education/year that focuses on caregiver communication and basics for improving clinical outcomes.
  • Attend Team Meetings as directed by management.
  • Maintain open communication with client’s Human Resources Staff and Benefits Department.
  • Organize and promote wellness programs, health fairs, and initiatives centered around disease/injury prevention.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in outpatient clinic setting.
  • Microsoft, Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Teams as well as experience with Athena EMRs (preferred)
  • Knowledge of DM to include, motivational interviewing/coaching, evidence-based prevention and treatment protocols and Clinical Practice Guidelines.
  • Ability to identify members needing DM services and evaluate, plan, and provide individualized care plans and case manage as clinically indicated.
  • Knowledge of evaluation programs and services to meet regulatory requirements such as OSHA, Department of Transportation and CDC.
  • Ability to evaluate and treat all injuries and illnesses within the scope of practice and consistent with clinical nursing guidelines.
  • Ability to assist with accident investigations to identify root cause analysis of all incidents and near misses.
  • Experience administering injections, vaccinations as well as phlebotomy.
  • Willingness to travel to neighboring clinics as needed.
  • Basic knowledge of Workers Compensation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License, insurance, and ability to travel within the region as required to perform duties.
  • Must be COVID vaccinated with appropriate boosters.
  • Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred.

Required Education:

AAS/Nursing from an accredited college/university. BSN preferred. BLS certification. DOT Specimen Collection trained; must obtain within the first 3 days of start-date (company paid).

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to squat, kneel and bend with balance.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment:

Exam room with frequent exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Masks are worn while patients are in the clinic. COVID vaccinations are required.
