Job Summary: The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Technician is responsible to ensure food safety and compliance are completed at the highest level of quality and integrity and in full compliance with SQF, USDA regulatory agency standards, and/or federal and state mandates. Spends 98% of the time on the production floor working closely with Operations and Maintenance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:

• Ensure all products produced meet or exceed all customer, regulatory, company and SQF requirements.
• Document and validate all food safety processes/procedures to monitor incoming raw materials, in-process and finished products to ensure compliance to all regulatory and company requirements and specifications (SSOP, HACCP plans, prerequisite programs, etc.).
• Train food safety and quality both in the moment and in scheduled classes.
• Enforce food safety and quality programs providing continuing education and training of plant team members.
• Verify all required documentation ensuring strict compliance, training team members on proper completion.
• Develop a professional working relationship and act as a plant liaison with USDA staff.
• Complete regular label reviews and verification to ensure labels meet all regulatory requirements. Report findings to supervisor.
• Limit costs and avoid injuries by confirming proper maintenance and usage of all machinery and equipment.
• Holds team and self to deadlines and commitments.
• Follow and responsible to enforce all GMP, SQF, USDA and Company policies and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
