About Us: The Savannah Yacht Club is a private, family-oriented club located on the Wilmington River on Whitemarsh Island, in Savannah Georgia. We are dedicated to member satisfaction through superior service and quality facilities.

Summary: Receive and prepare orders according to standard recipes in a proper, professional, and timely manner to ensure member delight. Mainly in the Food Truck.

Job Duties:

• Receives and understands food orders form the food truck, dining room, manager on duty, or banquet event order.
• Assists in preparation of the requested food and to coordinate the orders for pick-up by the service staff.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the work stations, kitchen area, walk-in coolers and freezers.
• Assures the production of the best quality possible in a proper sanitary and professional manner.
• Maintains the inventory of the work stations.
• Controls waste by monitoring proper rotation, storage, and production.

Job Qualifications/Experience:

A minimum of one (1) year experience in food production is preferred.
Must have basic knowledge of food production, as well as be familiar with standard food recipes.
Previous experience in recommending, serving and knowledge of food recipes is highly recommended and preferred.

• Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
• Must have the ability to manage a diverse workload, prioritize and delegate in a fast paced environment.
• Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and to deploy resources effectively.
• Must have the willingness to provide exceptional service to members and desire to provide leadership to position the department to achieve the mission.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work in outdoor environment under inclement weather conditions if assigned to outside food outlets

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting, carrying, or moving from 1 pound up to 50 pounds for 50% of shift.
• Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and upward reaching for 85% of shift.
• Standing for 90-100% of your shift
• Ability to work in a kitchen environment with temperature fluctuations
