Southern Foodservice Management, a national contract food service provider, is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and experienced Food Service Worker for our corporate dining facility at Blue Cross Blue Shield location in Columbia, SC 29223.

We’re looking for a professional who is committed to providing the best possible dining experience, that will deliver excellent customer service and quality in every product we offer, address guest needs and anticipate requests.

You will provide routine food preparation, customer assistance services and on any given day the responsibilities may vary to meet the needs of the operation as directed by the Management Team. You will be responsible for working the cash registers, ring up all items for guests at check out, assist with stocking and maintaining the beverage station and assisting with prep-work as needed. You should have a professional appearance, dependable transportation, teachable attitude, and a strong work ethic.

This is a part-time position Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 1:30pm and the pay rate is $10.00 per hour.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform variety of tasks concerned with preparation and serving of foods and beverages to our guests.
• Running a cash register
• Assists with food preparation as directed, operating food production equipment as required to complete tasks.
• Operates grill, broiler, or deep-fat fryer to prepare specific fast foods.
• Assist with catering set-up and serving as needed.
• Maintains, cleans, and sanitizes workstations.
• Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other containers and returns to appropriate location in the kitchen area.
• Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service.
• May be assigned and required to perform all other tasks to support meal production, service, breakdown, overall cleanliness of the cafeteria and related work areas, and all other business objectives. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Cash handling and credit card experience.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
• Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift up to 25-30 pounds at times.
