As a Flexo Press Operator in our organization, you will not only work as a critical part of a team, but also work independently to accomplish objectives.

About the Position:

The Press Operator position with MM Group requires that all Operators be able and willing to produce a quality product in a safe and efficient manner while abiding by all Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. Our Press Operator duties include but are not limited to reading, understanding, and being able to properly fill out all required paperwork, meeting all inspection criteria of the product as well as company equipment, proper flagging of rolls, properly setting print impressions as well as die impressions, cleaning and caring for plates, maintaining inks, calculating linear footage, proper handling and caring for raw materials as well as precise accountability of material usage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in and around your work area at all times.
  • Perform proper area clearance before and after each job.
  • Read and comprehend information in each job ticket.
  • Perform proper inspections of work area and equipment.
  • Inspect plates for proper mounting as well as quality problems prior to mounting on press.
  • Must be able to mount plates when necessary.
  • Flag rolls accordingly (brown tape = web break), (green tape = beginning), (red tape = end or plate wipes), and (black = missing labels).
  • Set print impressions by going down an additional ½ turn after the initial impression is set.
  • Set die impressions and perform die strike test to ensure proper impression before running.
  • Clean plates thoroughly and store them properly after each use.
  • Maintain all inks properly to ensure ink quality.
  • Ensure adequate “okay to run” verification is obtained prior to running job.
  • Properly and completely fill out the Press Product Monitor Sheet on all jobs.
  • Label all finished rolls with proper roll tags filled out completely.
  • Stage all finished rolls (jobs) in individual cages provided to avoid contamination and product mix.
  • Calculate linear footage needed for each job prior to running.
  • Document all material used on the provided inventory pick ticket.
  • Pull and label retains and places within job ticket for each roll ran.
  • Perform all necessary Hagen entries for every job ran (make ready, run time, wash up, net and gross quantities ran, job number, etc.).
  • Ensure that goals set are met to complete all jobs within the estimated time allowed.
  • Must be able to make appropriate adjustments to press to achieve a quality product that meets customer standards.
  • Perform all required preventive maintenance requirements.

Skills, qualifications and/or experience:

  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Solid Flexo label printing knowledge and skills

About the Working Environment:

Your work will be done in a clean manufacturing facility that produces high-quality packaging products for Pharmaceutical Companies. You may be required to lift up to 50lbs., bend, stoop, reach and walk short distances to complete job tasks. Use of proper personal safety equipment is required when in the manufacturing or warehouse areas, including but not limited to hearing protection, safety glasses and safety shoes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
