Position Summary

Pinehurst Medical Clinic is seeking a Financial Services Representative to join our central billing office, in Pinehurst, NC This position plays a key role in patient care working with our providers in providing the best in patient care by identifying, revising, and processing unpaid accounts by contacting patients and/or third party reimburses. This is a full-time day shift position and does not require weekend or holiday hours.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Identifies delinquent patient accounts via reports generated by PMC, aging periods, and payment sources while reviewing each account and reviews and maintains reports from other information sources such as credit bureaus.
• Performs collection activities, evaluating the patient financial status, including contacting patients/carriers by telephone and resubmitting claims to third-party reimburses and sending information to an insurance specialist.
• Establishes budget payment plans per collection procedures and does follow-up work on such accounts.
• Review accounts for possible assignment to collection agencies, making recommendations and preparing information for said collection agencies.
• Follows collection procedures as designated by management.
• Mails out past due letters and process statements
• Review accounts for discharge from the practice.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education (Including Licenses and Certifications):

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

• One to two years of experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
• Medical insurance background preferred.
• CPT and ICD-10 coding experience highly desirable
