We're one of the area's top Managed Technology Services Firms and we're looking for our next Level 1 Help Desk / Field Tech. We are seeking a motivated person with awesome people skills, strong communication abilities and, most importantly, well developed technical skill to join our team.

You'll work from our comfortable offices located in Metairie supporting our client's technology systems such as desktops, laptops and mobile devices via phones and email. You'll also work onsite at our client's offices and facilities located throughout the greater New Orleans and North Shore areas, with occasional onsite service in the Baton Rouge area. This position requires the candidate to identify user problems promptly, develop solutions and always maintain our high level of customer satisfaction. You will be in one of the primary positions for our team so you must be a self-starter as well as a great problem solver.

The Level 1 Help Desk / Field Tech Position:

• Your work as a Help Desk / Field Tech will be remotely supporting desktops, networks and user issues via phone, email and remote access tools and onsite at client locations.
• You'll travel to client locations support to troubleshoot, install and maintain equipment.
• You'll communicate with clients as needed to resolve support issues and coordinate with your Service Managers for escalation and emergencies.
• Help Desk / Field Techs also participate in meetings and assist in maintaining company records and customer network documentation.
• You will install and configure computers, laptops, printers. You also may install switches, firewalls, or wireless access points pre-configured by a senior technician.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:

• Ability to pass test demonstrating strong written and verbal communications skills.
• 2 - 5 years IT support experience with proven experience working on Windows based PCs in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to pass vocabulary and operational proficiency tests on current PC hardware, software, and basic networking.
• Ability to work as scheduled sitting, standing, stooping, lift and carry 35 lbs., use a keyboard, and speak on the phone.
• Ability to travel to client site using your private vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications & Abilities (i.e. not all are required, but the more you have the better):

• 2 years of coursework in computer related discipline.
• 1 year of experience with a managed services provider or IT consulting company.
• Experience with Mac or Linux based systems.
• Experience with network cable installation and termination.
